Before the hutch was finished

The hutch doors on the bottom were just plain wood fronts, so I bought 2 of these wood pieces and glued them on...they look so nice now with the paint and antiquing I did to them. The top doors had glass with gold...ewww...so I removed the glass and painted chicken wire and added that. Also the inside of the hutch had just plain ugly wood so I put beadboard in.

Finished Hutch

I finally finished my hutch a few weeks ago. I am very happy with how it turned out :)

End Tables ~ Before~

I have been looking for 2 end tables to re-finish for my living room. They are either very pricey for ones that need to be re-done..or people will sell ONE end table with a coffee table....I needed TWO end tables. So, I finally found these two on CL, 2/25 bucks...I thought that was a great deal..and good thing I called when I did, because the gal had a bunch of calls for them!!

End Tables ~After~

I still have to do the other one, and get new hardware for them.

Hutch

I finally started working on my hutch for the kitchen. I have had this hutch for over 10 years and I am very excited to paint it! I primered most of it last night, the base is done...I just need to do the doors and a drawer. Just putting the primer on it, what a huge difference. Here are some pics of the hutch. I bought some beadboard to put on the back walls of the hutch also. I will work on it again today. I should have pics up soon. I am taking the class off of the doors and replacing it with some type of wire.

Yay! Hubby and I started putting in our new floor in the kitchen. I am really excited. It's been a very long time since we have done anything  nice for ourselves....and I think we deserve it :) I will post pics soon.

It's Saturday & Sunny

As all of my friends and family know, I am a big lover of cold weather! Yes, I love it. However, I am going to say it....I am excited it is sunny out today. I have been wanting to work on the trunk I bought. So, today I think that is what I am going to do.

My $5 Desk.

I found this little desk a few months back, of course I didn't take a before pic...I got too excited to re-do it...that's probably what happens when you first begin re-doing furniture. This is I think one of my 2nd projects. This little desk was a really ugly brown color and as you can see, I did it in red with the black glaze.

Hope Chest

This Hope Chest was my husband's great-great grandmother's. The family gave it to me last year. I love it...and especially belonging to my husband's family. It is in wonderful condition.

Chair

I bought this nice heavy solid wood chair a few months ago for 8 dollars. It was painted a (ugly) yellowish-white with fruit decals on it. I forgot to take a before pic...but trust me...it wasn't pretty :) This was my first paint/glaze job. I really like it.

Trunk

I bought this trunk at the Trackside Mall last week. It looks like someone may have started to paint it. I am going to re-do it, I just do not know when.

Catalogs

So, while going thru Nana and Gramps house I came across these Sears catalogs. One is from 1923, the other from 1900. I don't know why, but I am just facinated by them, possibly because Nana held onto them for all these years.

Dresser

Here is a dresser my Dad gave to me last year...he has had it for about 25 years.
